Board of Directors

The United MGA Group Board of Directors is an accomplished group of Canada MGA and insurance veterans. Their leadership drives the group forward by making decisions that benefit every insurance broker and financial advisor within our ranks.

Lawrence Fuller

President & CEO

Lawrence Fuller is the President and CEO of Canada Loyal Financial and one of the founding members of The United MGA Group.

A member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Lawrence started his financial services career with New York Life in 1980. Currently licensed in every province except Quebec, Lawrence completed his Mutual Fund Licence in 1999 and his Officers, Partners and Directors exam in 2000. He has also taught and moderated classes for LUATC courses for both Level I and Level II for three years.

In addition to his roles at Canada Loyal and The United MGA Group, Lawrence is also the President and CEO of Canada Loyal Securities, Taylor Financial Limited and Oakville Financial Limited. He uses his extensive network of professional connections to provide the best resources to his brokers and all MGAs in our organization.

Andrée McLean, CSA

Executive Vice President, Vice President (Agent Services)

Andrée entered the insurance industry in 1985 as an agent for Standard Life. She qualified for the Stars Conference in 1987 and 1989 and was promoted to Sales Manager in 1991, where she was awarded Sales Manager of the Year distinction. She was promoted to Branch Manager in 1993 and stayed in that position until becoming an agent in 1998.

Andrée founded Estate Financial Inc. in 1999, which today sponsors 285 brokers and is one of the founding members of The United MGA Group. She purchased The Mortgage Centre franchise in 2002 and incorporated Estate Mortgage Inc.

Andrée was elected President of the Fredericton Life Underwriters Association in 1993 and became a member of the Presidents’ Club in 1998. She currently serves as Director of the Board for Fredericton Non- Profit Community Housing.

As Vice President of Agent Services, Andrée is responsible for the value-added services available to United MGA Group members.

Dale Manson, CLU, CFP, CHFC, CSA

Executive Vice President, Vice President (Technology)

Dale started his career in the insurance industry as a personal producer in 1979 with Pioneer Life, where he received numerous awards for outstanding sales achievements. He is Mutual Fund Licensed and became Branch Manager for the Kelowna office of Standard Life in 1994. In this position, he won the Vice President’s Award for Branch Development in 1995 and the Chairman's Cup for the best overall branch office in Canada in 1998.

Due to his outstanding success, when Standard Life changed its method of distribution in 1999, Dale was the first General Agent appointed by Standard Life in Canada. In 1999 he left Standard Life and founded his own company, Platinum Pacific Financial Services Ltd.

A founding member of The United MGA Group, Dale is responsible for all agency, agent and carrier technical support.

Robert Packman

Vice President (Marketing)

Robert Packman joined Standard Life’s Ottawa Sales Office as an agent in 1992. Within 24 months, his sales success led to membership in the company’s Sales and Marketing Advisory Round Table, which he was a member of from 1994 to 1998.
 
The secret to Robert Packman’s success was his focus on selling life insurance products to small- and medium-sized businesses and self-employed professionals. In 1995, he joined Standard Life’s Honour Club. Between 1994 and 1998 he was one of Standard Life’s top 20 agents in Canada and was invited to join the President’s Club. Robert has also been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table since 1996.

In early 1999, when Standard Life decentralized its sales team, he was one of only two agents in Canada asked to become a Managing General Agent for the company. He founded R.G. Packman & Associates Ltd. in April 1999 and has since assembled a team of over 600 independent insurance agents, agencies and brokerages throughout Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec and the Maritimes. He is a founding member of The United MGA Group.

Ken Mossing

Vice President (Finance)

Responsible for all United MGA Group budgets, financial reports, receivables and payables, Ken began his career in the insurance business as a personal producer in 1979 with Pioneer Life, where he received the Gold Plaque Award for Outstanding Performance from the National Association of Life Companies. He became Branch Manager of Sovereign Life in Saskatoon in 1992, a position he held until the company was acquired by Standard Life in 1993. He received the Vice President's Award from Standard Life in 1996. Ken started his own company, Performance Financial Services Inc., in 1999 and has been operating as an MGA since that time.

Ken is the Past President of the Saskatoon branch MAIFAC and is the Past Director of the Saskatoon Henk Ruys Kinsmen Soccer Center. An avid pilot, he is also the Past Captain of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association.

Joe Daley, CSA

Vice President (Agent Services)

A graduate of Saint Thomas University, Joe became a Life-licensed agent with Standard Life in 1988. He spent nine years as a Regional Manager with Irving Oil Ltd. before returning to the insurance business in 1999, when he formed Estate Financial Inc. He then founded Estate Mortgage Inc. in 2002 following the acquisition of The Mortgage Centre.

Active in minor sports as a coach, official and volunteer, Joe is one of the founding members of The United MGA Group. He is responsible for the organization’s value-added services.

Vincent Robichaud, CLU, CFP

Vice President (Corporate Affairs)

Vincent is a founding member of The United MGA Group and is responsible for organization conventions and managing contracts.

His career started at Sovereign Life in 1981. He joined Prudential of America in 1990 and became Sales Manager in 1992, going on to win Citation Awards in 1993, 1994 and 1995. He continued his quick ascent at Prudential, becoming Branch Manager in 1994 and Mutual Funds Officer in 1995.

Vincent became Branch Manager at Standard Life & Mutual Funds in 1998, winning the Citation Award in 1998 before founding Apex Performance Financial Brokerage Inc. in 1999.

A former President of LIMAC, Vincent moderated LUATC Level I and Level II courses for three years and was the Advocis Treasurer for four years.

Gerry Belec, BA, CLU, CFP, CHFC, CSA

Vice President (Training and Education, Agent Development)

A founding member of The United MGA Group, Gerry is responsible for coordinating our agent training curriculum and maintaining our training library, CDs and videos.

He entered the insurance industry in 1974 in the Management Training Branch of North American Life in Toronto. He was transferred to Windsor as a Field Manager Assistant in 1977, a position he held until he was appointed as Branch Manager in downtown Edmonton in 1987.

Recruited by Standard Life in 1991 to take over its Edmonton Career Branch, Gerry qualified for the Stars Conference in 1996. He remained with Standard Life until 1999, when he started Belec and Company Ltd. MGA. Very successful in his business, he joined the Million Dollar Round Table in 2006.
